The master in Neuroscience & Cognition is not only about learning all about neuroscience, cognition and research, it is also a place to master other important skills important for a future researcher.
Each year, our students organize a two-days symposium, The Mind the Brain Symposium, with renowned international speakers, student presentations and poster sessions. This is a highlight of each study year for all students.
Furthermore, the master has its own journal in which students can publish their own data, news about the field and in which the coordinators give their view on high-impact articles published in their field of research. The journal is published twice a year and is presented during a special ‘borrel’.
The board of the master values the input from students in the educational program and the special activities. Therefore the master runs a Board of Student Representatives who meet with the coordinators of the master once every other month. The student representatives take care of the introduction for the new master students, but they also organize ‘borrels’ e.g. for Sinterklaas and Christmas and the occasional BBQ. To get more detailed information about these special activities, take a look at the experiences of some of our students.
