Neuroscience and Cognition (NC) Utrecht is an umbrella organization uniting education and research in the field of Neuroscience and Cognition, within Utrecht University and the University Medical Center Utrecht. Five faculties and three large research institutes are involved in NC Utrecht. This formal partnership enables easy exchange between the various departments and allows Master students to combine courses and research internships from various research units in Utrecht.
As one of its activities, NC Utrecht organizes topical annual summerschools, at a junior (master/early PhD phase) and a more advanced (senior PhD/postdoc) level. Our Master students are welcome to apply (admission subject to selection).
NC Utrecht supports broad access of its participants to excellent research facilities, e.g. an extensive neuroimaging environment. All of these facilities are open to Master students.
Foremost is the aim of NC Utrecht to foster collaboration between excellent investigators within the Utrecht area. To this purpose NC Utrecht every year organizes its Research Day, which brings together all participants in an informal setting, and features the annual NC Utrecht Debate. Last year’s debate was covered by Nature Reviews Neuroscience.
As part of its research activities NC Utrecht also financially supports research projects.
